General Returns

Please choose carefully, as Central Park Interiors does not offer refunds for change of mind. Where a return is accepted at our discretion, the value of the item will be issued as a store credit only. Credits are valid for 12 months from the date of issue and cannot be redeemed for cash, transferred, or extended.

Viewing Items at Home

We're happy for customers to take smaller items home on approval to see how they look in your own space. This service is offered at our discretion and may require a deposit or hold. Larger furniture items are not available for home trial under any circumstances, due to the risk of damage in transit and handling.

Custom-Made Orders

The majority of our furniture, upholstery, and window furnishings are custom made to order. Once a 50% deposit has been paid, your order is deemed confirmed and final. At this point goods are ordered on your behalf from our suppliers, and the order cannot be cancelled, changed, or refunded. The remaining balance is due prior to or on delivery, as agreed at time of order.

Delivery, Inspection & Responsibility

All furniture purchased in-store is thoroughly inspected prior to delivery, and a video record is made of the item's condition before it leaves our premises. This record is retained as evidence of the item's condition at the point of dispatch.

Once goods have left our care — whether collected by the customer or handed to a third-party carrier — Central Park Interiors accepts no responsibility for damage, loss, or defect arising during transport, delivery, or thereafter. Any claim relating to damage in transit must be directed to the delivery provider, and any such damage must be noted at the time of delivery.

Faulty or Damaged Goods

This policy does not affect your rights under the Australian Consumer Law in relation to goods that are faulty, not fit for purpose, or significantly different from that described at time of sale. Where a genuine manufacturing fault is identified prior to delivery leaving our care, we will repair, replace, or issue a credit at our discretion.

Care of Furniture

Proper placement and care significantly affect the longevity and appearance of your furniture. The following conditions are considered normal wear resulting from placement and environment, and are not covered under warranty, credit, or replacement.

Sun Exposure & Fading Direct and prolonged exposure to sunlight will cause fading, colour change, and uneven tone in timber, upholstery fabrics, leather, and window furnishings over time. This is a natural characteristic of all materials, including premium and imported fabrics, and is not a manufacturing defect. We strongly recommend:

  • Positioning furniture away from direct sun where possible

  • Using curtains, blinds, or UV-protective window film to filter light

  • Rotating cushions and movable pieces periodically to allow even exposure

Proximity to Heating Ducts, Fireplaces & Heat Sources Furniture placed too close to heating ducts, fireplaces, radiators, or direct heat sources is at risk of drying, cracking, warping, and finish damage — particularly solid timber pieces and veneers, and can accelerate deterioration of adhesives and upholstery foams. We recommend a minimum clearance of one metre from any active heat source, and avoiding placement directly above or beside floor heating vents.

Other Environmental Factors

  • Humidity: Extremes of humidity (too dry or too damp) can cause timber movement, joint loosening, or veneer lifting.

  • Moisture & Spills: Prompt cleaning of spills is essential; moisture left to sit can stain or warp timber and upholstery permanently.

  • General Handling: Furniture should be lifted, not dragged, and protected with felt pads on hard flooring.

Furniture, Upholstery & Window Furnishings — Specific Scenarios

Furniture (Showroom Stock)

  • Items purchased and collected/delivered in original, undamaged condition as per pre-dispatch video are not eligible for return based on post-delivery environmental damage (see Care section above).

  • Minor variations in timber grain, colour, and natural leather markings are inherent to natural materials and not considered faults.

Custom Upholstery

  • Fabric, leather, and configuration are selected and approved by the customer prior to production. Once approved and deposit paid, no changes or cancellations can be accepted.

  • Fabric batch variation between swatch and finished product may occur and is not considered a defect.

  • Custom upholstery is made to individual specification and cannot be resold; as such it carries no right of return once completed.

Custom Window Furnishings

  • Measurements are taken and confirmed prior to manufacture. Central Park Interiors is not liable for errors arising from measurements provided or confirmed by the customer.

  • Made-to-measure blinds, curtains, and tracks are non-returnable once production has commenced, in line with the 50% deposit confirmation above.

  • Lead times of 8–10 weeks are estimates only and may vary due to supplier or manufacturing conditions; delays of this nature do not constitute grounds for order cancellation or credit.
